When C was 6 months old, our local Surestart centre began a group called PEEP. I had no idea what it was but, being on maternity leave and struggling to fill my days, I decided to go and find out.

We eat cheese a lot in our house but if we’re using it in cooking we tend to stick to cheddar or mozzarella. What I didn’t know was that Dutch Edam cheese has 25% less fat than cheddar and 14% more calcium, so great for healthy bones for children and adults.

As we approach camping season, and throughout the summer, I’m hoping to bring you my top tips for camping with kids (I even have a badge!) including reviews of campsites we visit, must-have products and any other tips I can think of!

■Mix a pancake,

C’s absolute favourite thing to eat are blueberries. I’m not so keen but add them to muffins and I’m happy! This weekend we decided to do some baking…

Day One

Naptime: Not good. Lots of tears as she decided she didn’t want to sleep but I kept putting her back in bed. She eventually half fell asleep cuddling me and I transferred her to bed where she slept for an hour instead of her usual two.

We’ve had a slow cooker a couple of months now and although we started off just doing stews and casseroles I’m now getting a bit more adventurous.

Last week, I read a post about letting children choose their own clothes and how we associate clothes with different events.

This made me think about the clothes that C wears as she seems to have a wide range of styles in her wardrobe.
