I was told about these by a friend in the States when feeding DS1. They offered to send me one, but when I researched them online I decided against. For me, nothing screams ’breastfeeding mum’ louder than one of these things. I was happy to breastfeed in public (eventually…) but I certainly didn’t want to draw attention to the fact. I found that a pashmina, a blanket or even a muslin could be far more discreet than one of these things.

Lovely story. Not sure if it is really a myth that HIV positive mums should not breastfeed though?
Yeah, if you look at the studies done in South Africa (the highest HIV rate in the world) you’ll see that they now recommend that HIV positive mothers exclusively breastfeed for six months. It’s when they combination feed that the HI virus enters the gut ( i think) and they can become infected. They have also found that the babies who have been breastfed by their HIV positive mothers have been healthier in general than the ones who have been formula fed.

Now here’s a surprise! A new survey out of Scotland found that the majority of parents feel their work and family balance is “not ideal.” For many working parents, being able to spend more time with their families would be the better option.

If you gorge on foods laced with E numbers, is it possible to overdose on these additives? Stefan Gates set out to do just that.

Its’ an important decision choosing where you want your children to go to nursery and there are many factors to look out for, but the most important one is to let your intuition be your guide and to look at number of nurseries before you choose.

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I’m worried about chickenpox, as my three-year-old son has been exposed to it at his nursery. Is there any chance that the baby will be infected or damaged by chickenpox?
